From the Chairman
A variety of Guernsey businesses were rewarded for their efforts to improve health and safety standards at tonight’s GOSHA (the Guernsey Occupational Safety and Health Association) annual dinner.
‘We were delighted with the number, variety and quality of this year’s entrants from large organisations to individuals – all of whom are developing safer working environments for islanders,’ said GOSHA chairman Andrew Mills.
The awards and commendations were assessed by Institution of Occupational Safety and Health Council member and former chair of IOSH Thames Valley Branch, Mr Roy Featherstone and presented by Guernsey’s Commerce and Employment Minister, Deputy Carla McNulty-Bauer.
Managing Director of event sponsor Insurance Corporation, Glyn Smith said ‘As insurers we are there to help when things go wrong but of course no-one wants to have to make a claim. It is great to see the efforts that are being made to protect people from unnecessary dangers in such a variety of industries and we applaud those who are promoting better standards of health and safety in the workplace.’
